ICED FY11 Annual Report Is Now Available
To that end, this Annual Report documents the Committee’s accomplishments throughout the fiscal year including the placement of ICED interns with state entities over the summer, presenting a series of seminars, hosting a legislative reception, an awards ceremony and issuing newsletters.
2012 AWARDS CEREMONY
On April 25, ICED hosted its annual awards event to recognize a state employee, state agencies, non-profit groups and businesses for their support of employees with disabilities, and for promoting a greater awareness of disability issues. This report highlights best practices of nine states that promote the hiring, retention, and advancement of individuals with disabilities in state government jobs.
The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is issuing this report as part of the agency's efforts in support a comprehensive strategy
for the full integration of people with disabilities into all aspects of America's social and economic life.

In a continuing effort to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, the ICED has added the Employment Resources section to this website. This section provides
publications, training materials and resources for employees and employers in an effort to increase awareness of the benefits of hiring people with disabilities, and to facilitate the use of effective strategies.
Interagency Committee on Employees with
Disabilities
The Interagency Committee on Employees with
Disabilities (ICED) was created by statute to
address the needs of state employees with
Disabilities. Co-chaired by the Department of
Human Rights and the Departments of Human
Services, the Committee has five agency members
and four employee members appointed by the
Governor. The five statutory agency members
are the Departments of Human Rights, Human
Services, Central Management Services, Veterans
Affairs, and the Civil Service Commission. In
addition, ICED has the following standing
committee members: the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing Commission, U of I Division of Specialized
Care for Children, the Department of
Transportation, and the Department of Children
and Family Services.
The Committee serves as a resource to state
agencies on disability matters and state
employees on issues of concern. The Committee's
monthly meetings are open to the public.
