Permit to Operate


2010 Permit to Operate is valid
January 1 through December 31, 2010


2011 Permit to Operate is valid
January 1 through December 31, 2011
Each amusement ride and/or amusement attraction operating in the State of Illinois at an event open to the public must have a current Permit to Operate affixed to it. If you do not see the permit, ask the operator to see it before you get on the ride and/or attraction. If you do not see the permit, it may not have been approved for operation.

Any person who owns or operates an amusement ride or amusement attraction at an event open to the public without having obtained this permit to operate from the Illinois Department of Labor or who violates any order or rule issued by the Director or Board under the Carnival & Amusement Ride Safety Act (430 ILCS 85) is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Each day shall constitute a separate and distinct offense (Section 2-15 of the Act).

REPORT UNSAFE CONDITIONS, ACCIDENTS, OR RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS WITHOUT OPERATING PERMITS BY CALLING THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR 217-782-9347.
