Trouble Accessing the Appeal Status Inquiry Site?
Note:
This document will be updated as the need arises, so you may want to refer
to it in the future. The ASI applet has only been tested with Microsoft's Internet Explorer Version 6 or higher and Mozilla's Firefox Version 2.0.0.x. If you are running an earlier version of these browsers, please upgrade your browser to the latest version. Java: You can check to ensure that you have the latest version of Java for your operating system installed on your PC by clicking on this link: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp. This link will point your browser to a website with the latest version of Java. To verify your browser configurations for running the Java Runtime Engine, perform the following steps: Internet Explorer: Click on the Tools menu and then click on Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab and scroll about halfway down. You should see a section entitled Java (Sun). Directly under the Java (Sun) title, you should see a checkbox preceding Use JRE [your current version of Java] for <applet> (requires restart). Verify that this box is checked. Firefox: Click on the Tools menu and then click on Options. Click on the Content tab. You should see a checkbox preceding Enable Java. Verify that this box is checked. Firewall: If you are accessing the Internet through a firewall, you will need to verify that TCP Port 703 is open to outbound traffic. Contact your network administrator with this information. Red X image displayed where the applet should be; applets won't run: If you are seeing a Red X image displayed where the applet should be or the applet won't run, you might want to try this link: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/redimage.xml Last Resort: If you have verified that your system is in compliance with these settings and you are still not able to bring up the Appeal Status Inquiry applet, then please uninstall your current version of Java and install a fresh copy.
