State Plan on Aging – Public Comment Period Open!
The Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA) is excited to release a proposed State Plan on Aging for public comment.
The new State Plan will go into effect October 1, 2025, for a 3-year period. IDoA is accepting public comments through June 15, 2025.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – June 15 is Elder Abuse Awareness Day. With reports of elder abuse on the rise in Illinois since 2022, Department on Aging Director Mary Killough is reminding community members to learn the warning signs and speak up about suspected abuse of older adults.

CHICAGO – Several trusted Illinois programs offer free income tax preparation for low-to-moderate income families and older adults who may need assistance in filing their 2024 income taxes.
