Illinois Cares Rx: Drug Coverage through 2010
If you are currently receiving Illinois Cares Rx benefits, you need to reapply as soon as possible for these benefits next year. Applications must be received and processed by December 31, 2009. You can reapply for benefits online or with a paper form through the Circuit Breaker/Pharmaceutical Assistance Program, Illinois Department on Aging. To avoid a gap in your Illinois Cares Rx drug coverage in 2010, apply by the end of October 2009 to allow six to eight weeks (for online applications) for Illinois Cares Rx to process your application. If you are applying by paper application, you should apply by September 2009 to allow three to four months for Illinois Cares Rx to process your application.
Donít have a Medicare drug plan yet? Need drug coverage now? While you cannot sign up for Medicare drug coverage for 2009, you can still get drug coverage through 2009 if you qualify for Illinois Cares Rx. To find out if you qualify for Illinois Cares Rx, complete a free online screening today using BenefitsCheckUp To enroll, visit the Applications and Enrollment page.
You will have another opportunity to enroll in the Medicare drug benefit (Part D) on November 15, 2009, with your Medicare drug coverage starting on January 1, 2010. You can have both Medicare drug coverage and Illinois Cares Rx to lower your drug costs even more.
Note: If you already applied for assistance from Circuit Breaker for this year (Form IL-1363) but did not request help paying for your drugs or a monthly premium rebate, you can still do so by submitting an ADAD-16 form! This Illinois Cares Rx form is available online with the other Illinois Cares Rx and Circut Breaker forms.
