On December 20, 2006, the Illinois Supreme Court filed an Order establishing "Standards for Accepting Electronic Pleas of Guilty in the Illinois Courts Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 529."
The Supreme Court, in the exercise of its general administrative and supervisory authority over all courts, established the Standards to maintain the orderly development of practices and procedures associated with the implementation of accepting, electronically, voluntary pleas of guilty from offenders in minor traffic and conservation offenses under Supreme Court Rule 529.
Electronic guilty plea/payment systems for minor traffic and conversation offenses under Supreme Court Rule 529 have been implemented in ten counties: Bond, Cook, DuPage, Fayette, Franklin, Logan, Morgan, Moultrie, St. Clair, and White.
