Appellate Judge P. Scott Neville, Jr.

P. Scott Neville, Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was educated at Culver Stockton
College and Washington University School of Law. Justice Neville was
admitted to the bar in 1974 and was a law clerk for Appellate Court
Justice Glenn T. Johnson. From 1977 until 1979, he was Of Counsel at
Howard, Mann & Slaughter. In 1979, he became a principal with the law
firm of Neville & Ward. In 1981, Neville established P. Scott Neville,
Jr. & Associates, which merged with Howse, Howse, Neville & Gray in
1990. He worked with public and private entities, including the Chicago
Transit Authority, and has been, since 1993, an instructor at the
University of Chicago Law School in its Intensive Trial Practice
Workshop. In 1992, he was part of a team of attorneys who successfully
prosecuted the 1992 Chicago Ward “ReMap”case. Justice Neville was
elected to the Circuit Court of Cook County in 2000. He was appointed to
the Appellate Court on June 11, 2004. Justice Neville is a life member
of the National Bar Association and a member of the Cook County and
Illinois State bar associations.
