Substance affected family (SAF)

"Substance affected family" (SAF) means a household involved with the Department through an investigation or open case where alcohol and other drug abuse is present in one or more of the household members or evidence or allegations of alcohol and other drug abuse was the reason for the household's case coming to the attention of the Department. Extended family members or significant others who may not live in the household may be considered part of the substance affected family. (PG 99.13)
