It has been 2 years since the State of Illinois and the Central Midwest Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Commission (Commission) hosted a Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) Generators/Radioactive Materials Licensee Conference. The state and the Commission are hosting a conference to bring users and regulators together to highlight recent activities and discuss program and regulatory changes.

This Conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Downtown, 600 North State Street, Chicago, Illinois on December 6, 2010. For information regarding lodging arrangements, please contact the Embassy Suites at 1-800-EMBASSY and ask for a room in the CMC block. A rate of $99.00 per room plus appropriate taxes has been secured for December 5th and a few rooms are available for the night of December 6th. The number of attendees for this Conference is limited to 150 persons.

Topics of interest for waste generators will be discussed in the morning session. The afternoon session will be tailored to radioactive materials licensees and include discussion on the latest security requirements, emergency response, patient release criteria and the latest changes to 32 Ill. Adm. Code.

As you can see from the below tentative agenda, a variety of topics will be discussed, speakers from the industry will participate in the Conference and there will be ample time for discussion and questions from the attendees.

Your attendance at this Conference will help the State of Illinois and the Commission address the many important issues for generators and licensees in Illinois and Kentucky.
