Illinois Professional Emergency Manager Standards & Accreditation Program

Thanks for your interest in the Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM) Program. Although the IPEM Program Review Committee will meet in 2014 to discuss possible revisions to the overall IPEM program, please note that the current exercise requirements have been revised and these revisions take effect for all current applications and renewal applications. These revisions focus on clarifying what specific information is required to be included in the Narrative along with the additional documentation. Any additional revisions determined by the IPEM Program Review Committee will not take effect until after the 2014 IEMA Conference.

Please note the following revisions to the IPEM Program:

IS 704 “NIMS Communications and Information Management” has been removed as an IPEM training requirement as of February 5, 2014. It is no longer available thru FEMA’s Independent Study Program. Any replacement will not be put in place until following the IEMA Conference.

Although Damage Assessment remains an IPEM training requirement, the title has been changed to “Disaster Assistance Process” as of February 5, 2014. This more accurately reflects the current course content.
