The Illinois Freedom of Information Act
Effective July 1, 1984, the Freedom of Information Act
governs the inspection of public records. The Act requires that
all public bodies make their public records available. To protect
personal privacy, the Act allows that some records and information
remain confidential.
The Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) has copies of
liquor licenses available, upon completion of the Freedom of Information
Act request form. PAGE

below. The ILCC requires that the original signature be received

To ensure the confidentiality of certain types of sensitive public
records, the Act provides 31 exemptions to the mandate that public
records be made available. For a list of those exemptions, please
refer to the Freedom of Information Act.
