NCPERS Enrollment Period

Active employees have an opportunity to enroll in the voluntary optional term life insurance program during the upcoming open enrollment period of September 1 through November 30, 2011.

 Coverage is being offered through our membership with the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) and underwritten by Prudential Insurance Company of America. This coverage is separate and distinct from your State of Illinois life insurance coverage (currently Minnesota Life) and is designed to supplement other life coverage you may already have through the State of Illinois or coverage you may have purchased on your own. 

The NCPERS Voluntary Life Plan is decreasing term life insurance, requires no medical underwriting, and is very affordable at $16 per month. Information regarding this benefit, including the Schedule of Life Benefits, can be found at: www.ncpersvoluntarylife.com/srs

REMINDER: Open enrollment begins September 1 and ends November 30, 2011.

It’s easy to enroll in four simple steps: 

1. visit the above referenced website

2. print enrollment and beneficiary forms

3. complete the paperwork

4. forward the completed paperwork as instructed on the website.

NOTE: The payroll deduction form should be submitted to your agency payroll office, NOT SERS. The beneficiary form should be mailed to the address at the bottom of the beneficiary form, NOT SERS.
